This comes directly from community feedback — the cost of graduation can be a financial burden for families.

High school seniors who are referred through one of our community partners will receive a free cap & gown. 

Just like our prom dress program, this expansion will rely on donations from YOU! Please donate good-condition graduation gowns (any Midland County school colors) and undecorated caps. These will go directly to students who need them, starting next spring.

Donations may be dropped off to Mad Sports Apparel, our conveniently-located partner at 4400 N. Big Spring St., Ste. C-25, Midland (open 10-6, M-F).

In other news, Kids & Khakis has just completed another impactful school year. In 2024-25, 248 children were blessed with a total of 148 pairs of shoes, 64 coats, 438 pairs of pants, 434 shirts, 101 hygiene kits, and more.

Just recently we took a pair of shoes to an MISD elementary school for a student after receiving this request from a counselor:  "Child requested tennis/running shoes for field day. She mentioned parents don't have enough money to buy her shoes after paying bills."

Kids & Khakis is one of our best boots-on-the-ground opportunities to identify and help the truly in-need children of Midland.

It works like this: Throughout the school year, MISD school counselors/teachers may notice children who always wear the same outfit, or whose clothes are worn out, or whose shoes no longer fit. Or perhaps they identify a child in need of hygiene items or school supplies. They then contact Kids & Khakis at 3:11, and we quickly and confidentially deliver these items directly to the school for the child, often on the same day. We love to provide this behind-the-scenes service.
