Thank you to this community for believing in our Kids & Khakis program! With your support, we were able to help more local kids than ever this past school year.
43 different local organizations were served by Kids & Khakis, including:
Midland ISD / IDEA / Midland Alternative Program / Greenwood ISD / Thriving United / Safe Place of The Permian Basin / Barbara Culver Juvenile Justice Center / Midland Rape Crisis & Children’s Advocacy Center / and more
“New resident at Safe Place shelter - came with nothing.” – request for clothing, shoes, and hygiene on behalf of two boys
“Students are living with Grandma and they are struggling.” – request from MISD counselor on behalf of a 7th grade boy
Kids & Khakis is a quick resource for counselors and caseworkers on the front line. Through a private online portal, staff at local schools and other agencies submit a request when they notice a child in need. We deliver new school clothing, shoes, coats, backpacks and hygiene items directly to the school/agency for the child. Click here for more info.
Board member Sarah Collins, on why she came to be a part of 3:11 –
"I was asked to volunteer with a friend for 3:11’s prom program. There was one day where dozens of girls would come and they would pick a dress and accessories, do hair and makeup, and a little bit of self-love and reflection. These girls were so sweet and grateful just to be there. They all had a different story, but something in common at the same time. Seeing the smiles on their faces when they found the perfect look and knowing that I had a hand in making them feel special was what really got me hooked on working with 3:11."
